For the most part, our bird feeders are usually overrun by sparrows. It’s not often that we see anything else out there, so it really is a treat when something different shows up. In this case, the blue jay, which really brightened up a gloomy day.

Beautiful 🙂
Thank you. They are very eye-catching aren’t they.
We don’t often get bluejays at our feeders. They are such magnificent birds. We get a lot of chickadees.
I love to watch the chickadees. They dart in when nothing else is around. It’s too bad that the sparrows are such bullies! They frighten all the smaller birds away.
I love the markings on your jay’s! We have the Stellars Jay here, with the crest on it’s black head, and they are really huge. http://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/stellers-jay
They are impressive, aren’t they. We always know when they’re around. They make such a commotion.
Wonderful images!
Thank you! I was really surprised that I ended up with anything considering the gloomy weather and the fact that I was shooting through the window.
I love surprises like that!
What a pretty bird, and such a lovely colour; we don’t get anything quite like that in England 🙂
He certainly is eye-catching. And if you don’t see him, you’ll definitely hear him.
Lovely pictures of a beautiful bird!
Thank you!
