This week, Patti has selected Nature as the topic for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. Ever since I took up photography as a hobby many years ago, I have focused principally on nature, so when I saw the subject for this week I wasn’t really sure where to begin; literally thousands of pictures in the photo files relating to nature. I decided to whittle down the numbers by eliminating those animals or birds that we’ve come across in zoos and the like. We’ve already covered landscapes in a previous challenge so those were out. I could have featured some of the gorgeous blooms that we’ve seen in various gardens but instead I concentrated on wildflowers. Add to all that, I included some of the weird and wonderful things that I’ve found while out and about and there we have it. My take on nature.
Holy smokes you weren’t kidding! An amazing display!
Thank you, Tina! I wanted to try and cover as many aspects of nature as I could.

Amazing! This is really Nature – there are many favorites here, but among the flowers, the last section but one, I detected an almost transparent leaf against the blue sky…it caught my eye and kept it.
Skimming over the comments I found you’d already zoomed in on that transparent leaf.. that’s what stood out to me too! Thanks Leya, I felt the same pull, the same appreciation – and you’ve expressed it so well!
Thank you, Liz! I was rather pleased with the leaf image even if I did have to do a little bit of cheating to obtain the end result.
Thank you so much – then we are a bit alike!
Thank you so much, Ann-Christine! I found the leaf while I was walking at the Arboretum. I thought it would make a good picture but the lace patterns were hidden by the grass so I held it up and took the shot with the sky as background. I just cropped and photoshopped my fingers out of the resulting image.
Lovely!
😎👍👏
Your grid display of the photos / with the strong black lines – made the images nice and ordered – I was able
To enjoy them
All the way you set this up.
And whew – your lens sure knows nature! Beautiful work
Thank you so much for your kind comment! It seemed the best way to include as many images as possible without taking up too much space.
Oh my, what a collection! Beautiful to see all together like this, but how it must have been witness it yourself.
Thank you so much! We are blessed to be able to see and hear so many wonderful things in nature and I have enjoyed capturing so many of these moments with the camera.
Fabulous collection all the way around!
Thank you, Sandy!
Great selection of photos, Sue. They are all fabulous. The red rock with the patterns in it just cries out to be stroked though. I love the way the forces of nature create those patterns.
Thank you so much, Tracy! I couldn’t pass up the chance to get some close-ups of the red rocks in Utah. The patterns in these rock formations are fascinating.
You’re welcome, Sue. They must have a few stories they can tell. 🙂
I think that you have got nature pretty well covered there.
Thanks, Tom! I tried to fit in as many different things as I could without going too overboard.
What they said, Sue: an impressive range of gorgeous nature, weird and wonderful.
Thank you, Steve! I’ve spent so many years photographing nature and it’s just mind-blowing to me to think that I probably have only seen the smallest fraction of what’s out there in this world.
Outstanding photography! What an amazing collection of nature at its best. Just inspiring!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate you stopping by and commenting.
Wow! What a great collection! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Patti! I really enjoyed this challenge.
Beautiful portraits of the many faces of Nature.
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on capturing the best of nature…all of it! Wonderful photos.
Thank you, Marianne!
Beautiful selection of photos, Sue. Nature at its best.
Thank you, Elisabeth!
A beautiful nature gallery here, Sue! All are wonderful captured and selected.
Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you so much, Amy! It was my pleasure.
These are beautiful! You have very artfully captured the beauty of God’s wonderful creations! I love looking at nature because it makes me feel so close to Jehovah God. “For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship.” (Romans 1:20) Thank you so much for this!
Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting.
These pictures are stunning! I am incredibly impressed by your gift of seeing even the simplest of details and turning it into a masterpiece 🙂
There’s nothing like nature. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Thank you so much for your kind comment, Holly! I love doing nature photography and it’s a joy to be able to share some of the images here on WordPress.
I think you got all bases covered! Fabulous selection (guess my favourites!)
Thank you, Brian! I’m guessing birds and butterflies?
Well done and nice groupings. Very thorough.
Thank you, John!
