Awesome pictures!! Beauty in thorns!!
Thanks, Indira! I never realized how many different kinds of cactus there are until I started taking these pictures.
Great spiky photos…great to look at and enjoy but don’t touch!
Thanks, Marianne! Yes, you’re right about not touching. Even the ones with the pointy leaves can be quite painful as I found out in Texas when I accidentally stabbed my arm with one while I was busy looking at something else through the camera. That will teach me to look where I’m going!
I did the same thing in IKea! I picked up a tiny cactus in a pot to buy and it had spiky spines. One of the spines lodged in my finger and was so painful for a week!
Ouch!!
You certainly got the point.
So many varieties. Cacti are such fascinating plants.
In more ways than one. Who would have thought that a plant could be so painful!
Although now I come to think about it, I can remember quite a few painful encounters with stinging nettles back home in the UK.

Love this place! I come here in winter, a lot 😊
It’s a beautiful facility to visit. We don’t get there very often but I’m always amazed by the scope of the place. I was sorry to see on our last trip there that they no longer seem to be doing anything with the surrounding gardens. I found of photo from our first visit back in the 70’s and it shows some really lovely ornamental flower beds.
