This week, Amy has chosen Layered as the topic for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. I visited the Chicago Botanic Garden yesterday where they were preparing for Night of 1,000 Jack-O’-Lanterns. Peel away the layers of a pumpkin and what do you get? Scroll down to see the result.
Great Pictures~!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Wonderful creations!!
Yes, the people who do these are very talented. It makes me want to try my hand at one but it would probably not look anywhere near as good.
Fabulous Sue, and so nicely seasonal!
Thanks, Tina!
Wow, these carvings are creative! Love this layered series. 🙂
Thanks, Amy!
These are really small works of art!
Unbelievable carvings…never seen anything like that before! Also I love the planting in the pots, kale and cabbage…great idea! Great photos.
Thanks, Marianne! The carvings certainly put my poor pumpkins to shame. The people who did these are very creative.
Very skilled creations here – fantastic layers!
Thanks, Ann-Christine! I’d be interested to know how long it takes them to do something like this.
Surely some days!
Terrifying.
Yes, these people have quite an imagination!
Oh wow. So colourful and clever. I love orange layers.
The show itself is probably quite a sight. They had quite a number of these carved pumpkins lining the paths but they were all covered. Perhaps I’ll venture out next weekend to take a look if they’re not sold out. The place was packed this past weekend.
Impressive! 😊
It certainly takes pumpkin carving to a whole new level.
Sure does! 😁
Freaky!
Yes! These would definitely give the ‘trick or treaters’ something to think about.
I love the “reveal” towards the end. Great idea! Great monsters, too.
Thanks, Patti
HA! Grrreat!!!
Thanks, John!
