This week, Cee is looking for Anything that Flies for her Black & White Photo Challenge. Charlie and Zeus are two American Bald Eagles that were discovered injured in the wild and brought to Brookfield Zoo in 2010 and 2011 respectively. They can fly but only just, which is why they are being cared for at the zoo.
Beautiful
It’s easy to see why the area around the eagles is always busy as so many people love to watch them. Thanks for stopping by, Alice.
Oh what gorgeous photos of that bald eagle. Marvelous 😀
Thanks, Cee! I have to give credit to my trusty long zoom lens that makes shots like this possible.
Fantastic shots! 😊💙
Thanks so much, Irene! Lucky to catch them in just the right spot this time. The viewing area isn’t that large and they are very often hidden behind branches.
Great images of this majestic bird!
Thank you, Amy! These beautiful birds are always on my must-see list when I visit the zoo.
Magnificent birds and photos!
Thank you, Marianne! I know I complain about being stuck at home now because of the pandemic, but when I think about the freedom of movement that these wonderful creatures lost due to injury, it somehow puts things in perspective.
Superb Clicks, Sue!
Thank you, Jyothi.
Lucky Birds! Makes me want to ask them “what did the other guy look like?” 🙂 Beautiful pics!
Thanks, Lisa! The birds are well cared-for and it’s hard to tell exactly what their injuries were. I’m sure they’d rather be free and flying around but at least they are somewhere safe now.
That is the way I look at it. If they can’t be reintroduced in a safe manner, at least they don’t lose their life to a predator. 🙂
